A Relational & Mindful Approach to Therapy
In my practice, I place a heavy emphasis on authenticity, vulnerability, and connection. I believe that if addiction is a disease of isolation, then its antidote is connection—with oneself, others, and the universe. Working with clients, I believe it is essential to help them cultivate self-acceptance, which gives rise to a greater sense of self-worth and love for oneself. I consistently encourage clients to have compassion for themselves and help them to develop trust in and appreciation for the therapeutic process. I consider it my role (and privilege!) to assist others in discovering, becoming, and expressing their true self throughout their daily life.
When working with clients, I use a combination of the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Acceptance and Commitment, and Solution-Focused approaches, as well as Motivational Interviewing. My work is also grounded in 12-Step principles, which I believe to be vital in the treatment of addiction. I consider my therapeutic style to be relational and integrative, combining several modalities of therapy in response to what works best for you as an individual. I enjoy meeting clients where they are at when developing treatment plans and goals. We’ll explore what you would like most for yourself and work towards that.
My work is informed by not only my education and training—in clinical social work, alcohol and drug counseling, and the treatment of complex trauma—but by my own experiences with the disease of addiction, mental health disorders, and longterm recovery, as well as my prior career in the business world. The diverse skillset and and insights given to me by my own background make me well-suited to help you with any mental health issues you’re facing today. I look forward to hearing from and working with you!

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves. . . the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now.

Individual Therapy
Individual talk-therapy sessions are the heart of my practice; I enjoy working primarily with clients one-on-one. My practice is hybrid, so we can meet virtually or in-person at my office. I also offer walk & talk sessions along the lakefront and in local parks.
